There is a special kind of wedding that feels perfectly complete before it even begins. Nicole and Micah’s November celebration at Aldie Mansion in Doylestown, Pennsylvania, was that kind of day.
These two captured my heart from day one. They just radiate love and warmth. I found myself hugging Nicole’s sweet nieces and tearing up as her 97-year-old grandfather walked her down the aisle in honor of her dad.
The warmth their families exuded was unmatched; every vendor and every guest could feel how special they are. It was a day we’d anticipated for so long… and one we never wanted to end.

Wedding Weekend Overview
From the Tudor-style brick estate wrapped in late autumn color to a ceremony held beneath open skies to a love story that was quite literally handed off by the people who helped build it, this day was a cozy wintertime romance for the ages.
The weekend kicked off the night before at the Logan Inn in New Hope — strung with holiday lights, warm inside and out — before everything unfolded at Aldie Mansion on November 15th.
Nicole shared this with me after I delivered their full gallery:
“LAUREN every single photo is better than the last. I am so grateful you were there to capture the most special day of our lives. We absolutely adored working with you… and would do it 10,000 times again 💕”

Getting Ready in the Aldie Mansion Bridal Suite
I’ve shot several weddings at Aldie Mansion, but I still remember the first time I walked into the bridal suite. I immediately understood why people book this venue.
Blue walls, an ornate plaster ceiling, and a carved Gothic fireplace mantle are the architectural focal points in this space. Arched leaded-glass windows flood the room with soft morning light perfect for getting ready portraits. This room does the heavy lifting before I’ve captured a single frame!

Nicole’s bridesmaids showed up in mismatched rust and burgundy — velvet, satin, floral — and I could not have planned it better myself. That palette against Aldie’s red brick exterior was genuinely perfect for this overcast November day.
A few things I was obsessed with from the getting-ready details:
- These Bella Belle kitten heels with delicate floral appliqués
- Nicole’s two-look situation — a structured strapless ballgown with a cathedral veil for the ceremony, a silk slip for the night
- The custom watercolor invitation suite by Elizabeth Stuckey Design

Watercolor Stationery And A Custom Wedding Invitation Suite
Before guests even arrived at the mansion, this invitation suite told them exactly what kind of wedding they were walking into.
A hand-painted watercolor insert featured New Hope and Doylestown with both venues illustrated in a map. Letterpress. Cream and ivory. Layered vellum. Wax seals. A hand-illustrated monogram crest. And that ivory satin bow tying it all together. It set the tone for everything that followed!

I always say: when a couple cares about their invitations this much, the wedding is going to be something special!
An Outdoor Ceremony In Mid-November
Yes, it was overcast. Yes, it was cold. No, I would not change a thing.
The Aldie Mansion garden ceremony setup was stunning. Two dramatic floral columns flanked the altar with white hydrangea, blush garden roses, and trailing greenery. The stone aisle was lined end-to-end with lush ground arrangements in the same soft palette.
And then there was the thoughtful guest favors.

A gold bar cart stacked with white fleece blankets and a framed sign: “To have and to hold, so you don’t get cold.” I loved this hosting decision that prioritized the guest experience and added an elevated level of cohesion to the ceremony photos. Guests wrapped themselves up before the processional even started!
| Ceremony Detail | Notes |
|---|---|

| Date | November 15th |
| Processional | Nicole escorted by her grandfather |
| Florals | White hydrangea, blush and peach garden roses |
| Aisle Styling | Full ground-level floral arrangements |
| Guest Favor | White fleece blankets |

Meaningful First Look Portraits
Now. Can we talk about this precious first look? And for once I’m not talking about the bride and groom…
Before the ceremony even started, I pulled Nicole and her 97-year-old grandfather aside for their own little first look before anything else happened that day. And I am so glad I did — because those frames are some of the most precious images I have ever made in my entire career. I ugly cried behind my camera. I am not even a little embarrassed about it.

My grandparents mean everything to me. So when I see a bride choose to honor that bond the way Nicole did — making sure her grandfather was part of the story, not just a guest in it — I feel that in a place that has nothing to do with photography and everything to do with being human.
He walked her down the aisle with a cane in one hand and his granddaughter on the other. Micah stepped forward to shake his hand before she even reached him.
I was already gone. Absolutely done. The best.

The Cocktail Hour Through the Lattice Window
If you have never seen Aldie Mansion’s courtyard at dusk during cocktail hour, add it to your list of things to witness before you die.
This mid November celebration centered around the stone fountain with string lights twinkling and a live brass player in the corner.

I shot this moment through one of the mansion’s original ironwork lattice windows and it looked like a film still. The warmth inside against the deep blue November sky outside. I think about that frame a lot.

The signature cocktail display deserves its own mention:
- A four-tiered white tower of coupe glasses
- Her drink: Deep crimson blood orange margaritas
- His drink: Smoky Mountain Old Fashioned
The color of those drinks against that pale stone courtyard was bold, festive, and so inviting. Just like Nicole and Micah!
Indoor Winter Wedding Reception Decor at Aldie Mansion
Inside the mansion, the reception was exactly the vibe November deserves.

The grand staircase was draped in lush greenery garland with pillar candles lining the steps. I pulled Nicole and Micah here for portraits right as cocktail hour wrapped — her bouquet of white ranunculus, blush garden roses, and soft peach against his black tuxedo and the candlelight — and those frames are some of my favorites from the entire year!

This cake was a whole moment. Three tiers of smooth ivory fondant. A large sculptural bow in the center. A single gold “V” monogram at the top. Clean, modern, fashion-forward, and surrounded at the base by a full garden of white and blush roses.
It sat inside one of the mansion’s arched alcoves. The whitewashed brick behind it was doing the most. In the best way.

The Night Before: Logan Inn, New Hope
The Logan Inn — established in 1727 and absolutely glowing with Christmas lights when we arrived — was the perfect preview for the whole weekend.

Inside, I caught Nicole and Micah through the restaurant’s front window. Sitting close. Lights bokeh-ing behind them. Kissing over dinner like nobody was watching.
Ugh. I just love these two, this wedding weekend, and every last detail of their Aldie Mansion wedding day!
