Abby & Graham’s Tribeca Rooftop Wedding: A Storm, a Sunset, and the Most New York Night

Abby and Graham were married on July 3rd, 2026, in the middle of a heat wave, two miles from Taylor Swift’s wedding, during a FIFA World Cup Round of 16 match, on America’s 250th birthday weekend. A more iconic wedding date does not exist! A 103° day followed by a massive storm and the most perfect sunset truly made this the quintessential New York City wedding. Through every weather twist, they never stopped smiling — and as Abby put it, they always knew July 3rd was ~The Best Day~. I was honored to be their Tribeca Rooftop wedding photographer for an NYC wedding celebration I’ll never forget!

Why Abby & Graham Chose Tribeca Rooftop + 360

Abby and Graham celebrated at their favorite, Tribeca Rooftop and 360, weaving together their love for the city where they fell in love with every red and pink detail. It’s no surprise they picked a venue that gives you the whole skyline at once! Tribeca Rooftop + 360° sits on a cobblestone street in Lower Manhattan with an open-air rooftop for the ceremony and a glass-roofed penthouse for the reception, and One World Trade close enough to reach out and touch. For a summer NYC wedding built around the city itself, a Tribeca 360 wedding is hard to beat.

Summer NYC Wedding Details

To me, every exceptional wedding day begins with the smallest of details. For Abby & Graham, that took the form of a whimsical invitation suite containing a watercolor map of New York City and an adorable yellow taxi detail card insert. They carried those watercolor details through to their table number cards during the reception for a full circle moment.

A Fourth of July Wedding Color Scheme

Abby and Graham chose to celebrate with a red, white, and blue Fourth of July wedding color scheme, and I must say, it was such a tasteful take on the holiday palette. There were so many magical moments of pink and red! From the mix-and-match bridesmaid dresses to the rose petal toss during their ceremony recessional, this palette just popped. Soft blue in the reception decor linens were a nod to 4th of July weekend, and guests wore Lady Liberty crowns on the dance floor for a patriotic party favor to close out the festivities!

The couple pulled their guests into the color too, asking everyone to lean into bright formal attire and leave black dresses at home. The whole room read red, white, and blue right down to the last table.

Is a Tribeca Rooftop Wedding Still Outside If It Storms?

Yes, a fully indoor, or indoor + outdoor hybrid wedding day is possible at Tribeca Rooftop. And Abby and Graham’s day is a prime example of how the venue handles weather so well. The afternoon hit 103°, then a massive storm rolled in right over Lower Manhattan. Abby and Graham kept their ceremony outdoors on the roof and moved cocktail hour and the reception inside under the glass skylight, so the celebration never skipped a beat.

Once the storm cleared, everyone headed back up top for a casual afterparty on the roof with drinks and pizza. If you are dreaming of a rooftop ceremony but worrying about the forecast, this is the reassurance you need: at Tribeca Rooftop, an open-air ceremony and an indoor backup live in the same building!

Tribeca Rooftop Wedding Photos

Our portrait session portion of the day took us on the rooftop and down below on the streets of NYC. The rooftop gave us the wide, skyline-forward frames, and the cobblestone streets right outside the venue gave us that unmistakable downtown-Manhattan character. If you’re working with an experienced Tribeca Rooftop wedding photographer, you can easily get two completely different looks without ever leaving the block!

Then the sky put on a show. The most intense orange, red, and purple sunset graced the skies as the evening marched on, and those NYC skyline wedding photos ended up being some of my favorites of the entire year.

A Fourth of July Wedding Weekend in New York City

Abby and Graham turned their wedding into a full holiday weekend in the city, and their guests got the most quintessential New York send-off. It started with a rehearsal dinner at Ci Siamo in Manhattan West, ran through their July 3rd wedding at Tribeca Rooftop, and kept going into the Fourth with a Yankees game in the Bronx and the Macy’s fireworks over the Hudson.

Abby and Graham’s NYC Love Story

Abby and Graham were first introduced in 2017 in New York City by Austin, one of Graham’s groomsmen and a fellow Clemson University graduate of Abby’s. For three years, they were nothing more than good friends, growing close within the same friend group.

When COVID altered the landscape of NYC in 2020 and their gyms closed, the two started running together at the same track on the Lower East Side. Those evening track sessions turned into post-workout dinners, and neither of them realized at the time that the little hangouts were actually mini dates. Soon they fell into a comfortable rhythm between apartments in SoHo and Murray Hill — weeknight pasta at Pepe Rosso across from Graham’s place, Sunday football on Abby’s couch, and endless new restaurants and bars all over the city.

The couple went long-distance for two years while Graham pursued his MBA at the University of Chicago. In the summer of 2024, he moved back into Abby’s apartment in Murray Hill, and the transition felt effortless. In the summer of 2025, Graham proposed to Abby along Manhattan’s West Side with the Lower Manhattan skyline behind them. Their proposal story is a perfect celebration of a love shaped by New York City from the very start!

Planning a Tribeca Rooftop Wedding

I have photographed this venue and this city enough to know a few things that make the day run smoother. Here is what I would tell any couple planning a Tribeca Rooftop wedding!

Build your portrait timeline around the terrace at golden hour, then budget twenty extra minutes for the cobblestone streets right outside. You will come back with two totally different sets of photos! Tell guests to skip driving their own cars; Tribeca parking garages charge a premium and the Canal Street subway is a short walk away. And because July 3rd fell on a holiday weekend, Abby and Graham booked their hotel blocks early and ran shuttles to the venue from The Roxy Hotel and the Marriott at One World Trade Center. If you are marrying here in summer, book early and plan for the heat!

For more NYC inspiration, take a look at another timeless Tribeca Rooftop wedding I photographed at this same venue, and a New York Public Library engagement session that shows off a completely different side of the city.
