Ultimate Philadelphia Area Venue Guide for Romantic Wedding Photos

Planning a wedding in the Philadelphia area means you’re spoiled for choice when it comes to venues. Whether your vision leans toward chic city elegance, a whimsical garden estate, or a dreamy destination without ever leaving the East Coast—there’s a venue for that. This Philadelphia area venue guide is designed to help you find a setting that fits your love story, with my personal notes on what makes each space magical!

As a luxury Philadelphia wedding photographer, I’ve had the joy of capturing weddings in every kind of setting: from the heart of Center City to romantic estates tucked away in the countryside.

This venue guide is organized by distance; we’ll start at the venues closest to Philadelphia’s City Center and move out to some destinations Philly couples dub “worth the drive”.

Historic grandeur meets contemporary sophistication. Hannah + Joe’s autumn wedding in this former bank was all about drama: soaring 65-foot ceilings, marble columns, and moody uplighting. The mezzanine shots are an absolute must—especially at golden hour when the light is rich and cinematic.

Union Trust is the perfect venue if you’re dreaming of:

If you’re a romantic at heart, the Free Library of Philadelphia is pure poetry. With its Beaux-Arts architecture and literary charm, it’s a dream for couples who want timeless elegance. I blogged all about it in this Shakespearean-inspired wedding, which was filled with soft light, grand staircases, and bookish beauty.

  • portraits on marble staircases and in light-filled corridors

This might be one of my favorite venues on this Philadelphia area venue guide (and good thing, since I’m shooting here six times in 2026!). At Elkins Estate, you’ll find old-world glamour just minutes from Philly. This venue features Italianate architecture, sprawling gardens, and historic elegance together in one enchanting location. I captured the richness of this venue in Chelsea and Colin’s emerald and gold wedding, and it was everything romantic and regal.

The Elkins Estate is perfect if you’re dreaming of:

  • opulent marble columns, carved wood, and Gilded Age grandeur
  • balcony portraits against a backdrop of classical architecture
  • a full wedding weekend with on-site accommodations and historic charm

An ivy-covered mansion full of character and charm. This English-style estate is ideal for couples who want timeless romance and a garden party feel. This autumn wedding was filled with rich foliage, intimate garden moments, and stone pathways made for dreamy portraits.

The Aldie Mansion wedding venue is perfect if you’re dreaming of:

  • ivy-covered walls, garden fountains, and English manor vibes
  • a garden ceremony followed by ballroom elegance with large windows
  • intimate portrait settings across courtyards, terraces, and winding paths

No Philadelphia area venue guide would be complete without the fairytale that is Winterthur! This Delaware estate features 60 acres of naturalistic gardens, a grand mansion, and elegant outdoor spaces. I fell in love with this venue during this enchanting summer wedding—from lush garden paths to golden-hour glow and windows galore, it’s perfect for couples who want an estate feel with European charm.

My husband and I recently had our own couples session at Winterthur, and the pictures couldn’t have turned out any better!

  • soft golden light at sunset and endless natural backdrops for portraits

Classic, refined, and utterly luxurious. Hamilton Farm brings together manor-house elegance and rolling golf course views. This August wedding was timeless and sophisticated, set against the backdrop of formal gardens, manicured greens, and the Georgian brick mansion. With black-tie styling and monochromatic white florals, it was an expertly designed wedding with refined detail.

This golf course wedding venue in NJ is perfect if you’re dreaming of:

  • a Georgian manor house with formal gardens and open golf course views
  • structured, symmetrical spaces for refined, classic portraits
