It’s not every day that I get to capture the important milestones for one of my best friends! Sofia and Parker are very near and dear to me and I was THRILLED to make my way down to New Bern, North Carolina to capture their engagement photos.

Let me tell you a little bit more about their history:

Parker and Sofia met on an Alternative Service Break trip to Punta Gorda, Belize in March of 2017 with a group from NC State University. The first thing Sofia noticed when she met Parker was his gentle, patient demeanor and incredible servant’s heart. He was the first to volunteer for any job, large or small, and the last person to quit the worksite every day. Parker immediately noticed Sofia’s leadership and compassion for others. He was impressed by her work ethic and how she made sure each participant had a great experience. 

Fast forward 10 months to January 2018 – Sofia and Parker reconnected through the Summit Church in Raleigh, NC. After all that time, Parker finally worked up the courage to ask Sofia out! It was a full year after their trip when they made it official in March of 2018. They still joke about the period of time that Parker was “too scared to make a move” but in all reality, God’s timing could not have been more perfect.

Their story is so filled with love and light and as they wait for their upcoming nuptials, Sofia and Parker spend their time traveling (they have plans to visit all 63 national parks in the US & this year they are headed to CO and UT in May!), trying new foods, and enjoying North Carolina, where Parker is stationed with the Coast Guard reserves.

When I tell you that I can’t wait for their wedding, I MEAN IT.
