I’m still picturing it: the perfect summer evening framed by the Manhattan skyline, Sam and Andrew’s family and friends gathered to toast to true love. And a timeless black & white wedding color palette to tie the whole day together. The day started with the most hilarious champagne pop getting ready saga and ended with beautiful chaos on the dance floor. Samantha and Andrew’s Love Story

Samantha & Andrew are NYC locals who met at Hofstra University on Long Island. They knew from day one that they wanted to get married in New York City, which led them to choose Tribeca Rooftop 360 and a NYC wedding photographer (yours truly!).

You can’t beat the rooftop views, indoor space versatility, or how the venue transforms seamlessly from ceremony to reception. The venue is located between the West Village and Lower Manhattan, overlooking the Hudson River.

Difference between Tribeca Rooftop vs. Tribeca 360

Tribeca Rooftop and Tribeca 360 are two distinct spaces offered by Apogee Events.

Tribeca Rooftop has 29,000 sqft of capacity, featuring the terrace and interior space, as well as a 25 ft glass-enclosed atrium. The high ceilings, on-site event manager, and 2,000 sqft dance floor give all Tribeca Rooftop weddings an elevated and modern feel.

Tribeca 360 boasts 17,000 sqft of space, a 1,500 sqft dance floor, and 12 ft ceilings, all located on the 11th floor of the Hunter College MFA Building.

This dual event space also provides an incredible in-house catering team led by Chef Joseph Jenkins. Their mouthwatering menus are curated to fit your wedding and cocktail hour, with attentive staff available to orchestrate all the little details.

One thing I’ll never get over? Sam’s timeless bridal look in this satin Reem Acra gown from Alexia’s Bridal. Her delicate pearl bridal accessories, Jimmy Choo heels, and elegant updo pulled everything together. I can just hear Cher Horowitz shouting, “Classic!”

The Theme: Black & White Downtown Chic

The aesthetic inspiration for the day was classic NYC glam meets modern elegance. Moonwake Meadow Floral + Event Design delivered the most elegant white floral arrangements, bouquets, and centerpieces. The monochromatic white wedding decor and color palette made my job capturing this NYC wedding photography an easy one.

Capturing the Day: Wedding Photography in New York City

My approach to capturing the day was romantic, editorial, storytelling-focused. I loved working with Melissa and Steve Neske, an award-winning husband and wife filmmaking team. The Neskes are one of the best NYC wedding videographer teams.

One of my favorite aspects of Sam and Andrew’s day was getting the opportunity to shoot some drone footage and photos from the Tribeca 360 rooftop. Getting clearance to shoot with a drone in NYC is rare but always stunning!
